Council for Medical Schemes braves the tightrope between funders and the poor

Abstract


A new regulatory framework will in January 2016 enable medical schemes to offer low-cost, limited-benefit primary care medical aid, expanding private healthcare coverage by an extra 12.7 million people (from the current decade-long-stagnant higher-income 8.7 million members).
