Family planning in South Africa: Missing essentials and desirables

Norman D Goldstuck

Abstract

South Africa has a rapidly growing population. At the same time, our family planning options are somewhat limited compared with those available elsewhere. Adherence to reliable methods of family planning can only be successful if the individual has the correct method for her or his needs. We need to make sure that we have as wide an array of methods available as possible.
