Emergency care doctors – ‘off-task and in the wrong places’

Abstract


It’s virtually impossible to calculate whether South Africa has a shortage of emergency doctors and nurses until they are properly deployed to where the greatest needs are – and have sufficient ancillary support to ensure that they don’t spend chunks of their time doing ‘other people’s jobs’.
