Litigation benefits state-delivered medicine – but for how long?

Abstract


The soaring costs of private medical indemnity insurance for specialists in the higher-risk disciplines is preventing these thinly spread state-employed doctors from seeking extra income in the  private sector –  benefiting state patients and improving professional supervision of junior colleagues.
